Support The Ballet School of Stamford

Studio Fund – A DANCE PLACE

We are in the process of raising funds to buildout our new home at Stamford Town Center. Our goal is to raise $60,000. The first $5,000 will be match by an anonymous donor who believes in the power of dance education to change lives!

Please make a donation now online at our website or by mail to help us continue to teach artistry, discipline and dedication to a diverse group of students through dance education.

Dance For All Fund

We realized that now, more than ever, organizations that teach our children compassion, discipline and the feeling of success earned from hard work in a safe and encouraging environment are necessary. The arts bring beauty into our lives and teach us that everyone regardless of their background can work together to create something meaningful.

We believe our school makes a real difference in the lives of our students. We know how important it is to support children’s passions. In 2016 the Ballet School of Stamford taught 3,137 hours of classes for 265 students ages 3 to 18 years old, awarded $105,000 in scholarships to 89 students and presented high quality performances to 6755 audience members including 1,542 school students who attended Sleeping Beauty: A Tale of Good and Evil at the Palace Theatre at no expense to their school our 15th annual free school performance.

You can provide a full year scholarship for $700 for a lower school student or $4,000 for an advanced student. When students graduate they are not only well trained dancers with solid techniques but disciplined, focused and open-minded young adults who will embrace hard work and physical activity as the way to reach their goals.

“The Ballet School of Stamford provided me with excellent training in ballet. It also helped me to understand that I should respect the things that I commit to in my life, the places that I go, and the teachers that are a part of my education. At UConn, I am majoring in molecular cell biology, which is an intensive course load. The Ballet School helped me know how to organize my commitments and find a balance, and how to manage my frustrations. This is so valuable here at college.” — Prisma Lopez, BSS Graduate and Dance for All Scholarship Recipient

Artistic Fund

A great deal of behind-the-scenes hard work, preparation and expense go into creating what appears to be the effortless magic seen on stage. Each year we have either restaged a classical ballet such as The Sleeping Beauty or Coppelia or created a new work such as Hansel and Gretel, Peter and the Wof or Dancing Eliza. These are performed at the Palace Theatre, many with live music and professional quality staging. Your gift will help us collaborate with talented musicians, create beautiful sets and costumes to present the professional quality productions. Sponsorship packages are available.

Kyla Rae Tillem Memorial Scholarship Fund

An endowment program honoring the memory of our student Kyla Rae Tillem who at 16 lost her battle with cancer. She loved to ballet and being a dancer. We are proud her family choose to honor her memory with this fund which will enable student who can’t afford to dance the chance to study with us as she did.
